Intro

This page is only to organize info and help in the development of Super OS, by detailing how the "skel" ( /etc/skel ) of the system should be prepared. You probably will not find anything interesting here... but feel free to look...

Opera 10

• remove EULA dialog
• Keep "Opera startup" as the default page
• apturl
• Moonlight (?)
• Super OS bookmarks

Clean-up, delete from .opera folder:

• application_cache (and contents)
• cache
• opcache
• global_history.dat

Firefox 3.x

• Google Gears (does not seems to work on Firefox 3.5.6 on Ubuntu 9.10)
• After installing Opera, select "Do not import anything"
• Moonlight (+ codecs)
• apturl support
• Maximized firefox
• Super OS bookmarks
• Google as homepage (?)
• After doing the above, go to a live CD and open firefox with these config. files (this way the languages from the Live CD can be detected), and then copy the modified config. files (do not forget to clean history/cache again) (use Ubuntu DVD instead of CD because it has more languages)

Firefox (2.x)

• .mozilla/firefox/XXX.default (folder only)
• .mozilla/firefox/profiles.ini

• Google gears: .mozilla/firefox/XXX.default/extensions (+ content)
• Google gears: .mozilla/firefox/XXX.default/Google Gears for Firefox (+ content)

• Homepage: .mozilla/firefox/XXX.default/prefs.js

• moonlight: .mozilla/firefox/XXX.default/extensions/moonlight@novell.com (+ content)

• moonlight codecs: .mozilla/plugins (+ content)

• maximized window: .mozilla/firefox/XXX.default/localstore.rdf

wine

• file user.reg in .wine/ (Ubuntu Colors theme for Ubuntu)

Adobe Reader 9.2

• Avoid licence: file at ~/.adobe/Acrobat/9.0/Preferences/reader_prefs

Amsn

• "gconfig.xml" in .amsn/ (avoids pop-up with license)

Preparation: Grab original gconfig.xml and remove:

Real Player

file realplayerrc at ~/config/real, removing the lines:

  CookiesPath=/home/hacktolive/.config/real/rpcookies.txt
  UserSDKDataPath=/home/hacktolive/.config/real

VLC

• remove the initial dialog: file ~/.config/vlc/vlcrc

Google Chrome

• Super OS bookmarks
• Open twice to disable "Do do you want to make it the default?"
• delete cache/history
• ~/.config/google-chrome (+ contents)

Ubuntu Tweak

Disable initial screen

Unity

~/.config/dconf/user

Others

• also make this modifications to the root: /root
• also make this modifications to the Live CD/DVD user: /home/ubuntu (otherwise App Runner would have problems with the UCK remaster)
