SuperDeb files use the RUNZ format, but they could also be offered as a self-extracting file. RUNZ is just a container for SuperDeb files
Will this "downgrade" my software if the SuperDeb contains older versions of .deb files?
No, the SuperDeb installer will only install (or update) your software. The SuperDeb installer NEVER downgrades your software.
Can a SuperDeb be used to update my software?
Yes, sure. If the version of a program in the SuperDeb is more recent then the version on your system, then your program will be updated when the SuperDeb is installed.
